Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization for people who want to become personally involved in making their community a better place to live.
The Kiwanis Club of DeKalb was sponsored by the Aurora Club and was chartered January 21, 1921.
It its first 90 years the club has sponsored over 500 projects and activities which emphasize "serving the children of DeKalb and the world".
The club sponsored the Sycamore club in 1951, the Kishwaukee Club in 1969, the DeKalb High School Key Club in 1947, The Circle K Club at NIU in 1962, the DeKalb-Sycamore Action Club, two Builders Clubs and three K-Kids clubs.
The club reads to pre-schoolers  and buys books,  hands out  kid ID kits, sponsors library cards and flies American Flags on the flag holidays. We have activities for every interest.
